Ocotea

Ocotea is distilled from a tree found in the Amazon wilderness, the ranges of the west side of the Andes Mountains. It is commonly referred to by the native people throughout Ecuador as false vanilla or false cinnamon. The tree grows to a very large size, reaching up to 48 inches in diameter and over 60 feet tall, making a large canopy top. Historical usage of Ocotea dates back more than 500 years, when it was used to automatize sweets and cakes.
